- Is there other IP been used? At default, above two are the most common choice of IP from Netgear. There are some home end router's default router's IP has changes from above to 10.0.0.x ranage IP. This may have changes after certain firmware were applied.

Firewall related info will be coming soon!
- Use IE browser.
- Mac user, I would recommend to use PC IE broswer
(very few ProSafe Router do support Safari- FVX538, FVS336G are some)
- never ever ever use wireless for setups unless minor change in router. USE ethernet cable ONLY
Home End Router Owners:
Typically after hard reset the router by opening your IE Broswer (preferred) should start "Netgear Smart Wizard". Problems with the Web Configuration Screen
- The computer may not have received an IP address. Restart it to have an IP dynamically assigned (or run winipcfg in Windows ME or earlier, or ipconfig utility in Windows NT), and then launch the browser.
- You are running a software firewall on your computer. Disable it while accessing the router's configuration. Also you should realize that running a firewall in conjunction with a NETGEAR firewall may cause other problems. We recommend turning off software firewalls.
- Remove proxy settings on your Internet browser.
- Remove the dial-up settings on your browser.
Bypassing "Netgear Smart Wizard" (This url may behave differently with all the Netgear Router)
- These option may not work on some routers. If you still get "Netgear Smart Wizard", please follow the wizzard.
